Busy busy week but much fun. On Monday night I went to see Iron & Wine at the Queen's Hall. It was a really magical concert full of beardy goodness (5 out of the 8 musucians were beardy). It was a lot funkier than I was expecting with a really full and rich sound. I think I prefer going to gigs by myself. I find them (with the exeption of metal gigs where I'm dancing around in the mosh pit) a great opportunity for contemplation and it's a pleasure to be able to be alone with my thoughts and their musucal accompaniment. So there.

Tuesday I went down to Manchester to see Jo. After getting pissed on cheap cider in the student union, we met up with Roger and went to beloved xs malarkeys for comedy. Lovely to see Toby and Jase. Sarah Milligan (i think that was her name) was very funny. Jo got in trouble for being a wayward audience member. She is naughty. A saajaan kebab on the way home topped off the evening.

Jo who is a sweetheart got me lovely presents to cheer me up. I got a bagpuss to cuddle, an EP of the excellent SR Gents and this utterly lovely music box mechanism which plays Clair de Lune - one of my favourite pieces! I love her.


After a morning of hangover Jo took me to the very cool Art of Tea for delicious hangover curing food. We got very excited about the halloween decorations.



Then it was off to The Music Box for the halloween night where Jo was doing gory zombie burlesque along with her vampire, witch and wasp patners in crime. Much fun!
